Sometimes you just feel like screaming. It’s near the end of the semester and things are really hectic for me. I have too many projects, too many readings, and too much photography to do. I rarely have time for anything personal. I’m ok with all of this most of the time, but sometimes I get a little stressed or frustrated.

At a team meeting just last night we took two screaming breaks, back to back. We counted off to three and just screamed our heads off. We didn’t care who heard us or what they might say. We just screamed. We all felt much, much better afterward. Later, I went home and continued my screaming for just a bit.

I’m not saying that everything isn’t going well, because it is. I’m just saying that things get crazy sometimes, and everyone gets frustrated. Screaming helps.

For some odd reason I thought it would be cool to put a box on my head and take a photograph. It then became extremely addicting. Enough so that I’ve actually decided to turn this concept into a photo series. You can view the series on my flickr page. This will be an ongoing series in which I will photograph myself, as well as other models, in normal situations with boxes on our heads. I may even get a big group of people for a couple of shots. That would require lots of boxes, but I think it would be fun. What do you think?

Anyway, as is the usual style, here are the outtakes. These are from one particular sitting, the last image was chosen for my Picture A Day, which you should be following.

Here are some outtakes from a shot for a flickr group (Mission24) on the topic “forbidden”. I decided to go with a forbidden treasure root. The real reason here is that I have really wanted to try using an object to block a flash that would output directly on me while being hidden from the camera. I was hoping to achieve the effect of glowing treasure. These images are basically straight from the camera with the only editing being some light adjustments. I could have done added more ‘pirate’ features to the photograph in photoshop, but I decided to keep them as is. Enjoy.

Yesterday I was set on doing some ‘fashion’ photography with a sunset background. I had no model except for good ole reliable me. So, it was set to be a self portrait sunset fashion photo shoot.

About an hour and 15 minutes before sunset I went out to scout a location. It took a little while, but I eventually found a nice little road with some (wheat?) fields and some nice background. The sun was beginging to set as I got my equipment in place. Below are some setup shots and outtakes from the shoot.

Recently I went to the Kansas City Zoo. I took quite a few pictures. It was a very bright and super super hot day. I think this caused my focus (manaul, due to the cages) to be a bit off. This really upset me later once I got home. More recently than that I did some macro photography for a Mission24 mission. I hope you enjoy.
